An analysis of age gap relationships

An examination old enough hole connections Perspectives towards age-hole connections ought not be seen through cliché eyes; rather they ought to be seen with a receptive outlook, for they are more than what you see. Age-hole connections have been around since the beginning of human life. Truly age-hole connections have been between a more established male and more youthful female, and numerous societies masterminded relationships with this example. Age-hole connections are not socially built, however have advanced. They are additionally observed regularly in nature. Generalizations and negative conclusions are heard frequently in media, by companions and by family. Numerous celebrated big names, eminence, and heroes have been in age-hole connections. In numerous societies, orchestrated relationships have been between a little youngster and a more established man, this could have been to forestall marriage outside of the way of life, to increment political force, for domesticated animals, or to determine entomb policy centered issues. Doing this assisted with expanding the quantity of the network individuals, on the grounds that a little youngster could deliver a lot a larger number of kids than a more established lady. More established men had more assets to help the young lady and her posterity than a little fellow. By orchestrating the relationships along these lines the guardians were guaranteeing a more prominent number of enduring grandkids to pass on their qualities, riches, inheritance and land. At a transformative point of view age-hole connections ought to be increasingly basic just as less scrutinized. .. men are inclined to create however many posterity as could reasonably be expected, to expand the likelihood that their qualities will be passes on㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦Ã£ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢ ¦women lean toward a mate who has satisfactory assets, or the possibility to acquire resources,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦.(Banks and Arnold 2001) By figuring out how to look for these characteristics we have subliminally protected the endurance of humankind. This developmental procedure isn't very different from the manner in which creatures use to pick their mates. Mate inclinations may have developed, as opposed to being socially built (Banks and Arnold 2001), along these lines age-holes ought to be viewed as the social standard, and comparable age connections ought to be viewed as irregular. Age-hole connections have a rollercoaster history, where they were once acknowledged, at that point they werent, and now they are turning out to be acknowledged by and by. Ladies more established connections anyway are as yet thought to be untouchable, however that doesnt mean they ought to be separated more. Age-hole connections whether female more seasoned or male more seasoned ought to be taken a gander at as an ordinary relationship. Similar difficulties and issues ought to be viewed as when the relationship itself is being assessed. Analysis old enough hole connections is comparable in the manner which various races and gay couples are reprimanded, individuals see what is outwardly and not at what they truly are. There is a familiar saying Dont pass judgment superficially and I feel that more individuals ought to follow this, when managing age-hole connections as well as when managing all circumstances in which it isn't as it shows up. There are a wide range of generalizations put towards age-hole connections. For example, The more youthful accomplice is either searching for a parental figure or is in it exclusively for fiscal addition, and the more established accomplice is simply after youth and physical properties (Anisman-Reiner 2008). Tragically these generalizations are valid in certain circumstances, yet it doesn't imply that each age-hole relationship is that way. The relationship being referred to ought to be inspected first, at that point the age of the accomplices. Numerous connections that were solid and really had love in them, were separated because of steady provocation from family, companions, and even outsiders. Analysis that age-hole connections get depend on outrageous occurrences. The more established accomplice will get grimy looks and be known as a support burglar or be blamed for undermining their life partner (which other than the more youthful accomplice doesnt exist). Different things individuals state are: what would you be able to potentially need to discuss, would they be able to try and stay aware of you truly or they are keeping you away from encountering your childhood this generally causes worry for the couple. These are not in every case valid yet it makes the couple center around what individuals state about them, rather than different things in their relationship. Its workable for couples with enormous age holes to have the option to have basic interests, just as have a similar measure of physical action. For instance a multi year elderly person can play a round of tennis at a similar level as a lady in her 20s, or both could be into great stone or blood and gore films. Th e facts confirm that occasionally when you enter an age-hole relationship you are gambling losing some educational encounters, however you can make new ones that neither of you have had. That way the more established accomplice isn't rehashing educational encounters, and they more youthful accomplice is picking up life encounters. Whichever way age-hole couples get around these hindrances and have solid enduring connections. Numerous individuals will concede that they have been during a time hole relationship or they realize somebody has. These connections are turning out to be progressively normal these days but they despite everything get analysis. In spite of the fact that people report an inclination for and receptiveness to age holes in their own connections, they ordinarily dislike age holes in others connections. (Lehmiller and Agnew 2008) Why would you think about something for yourself, however then tell your companion that they shouldnt do it? On the off chance that it is on the grounds that you realize you could deal with it and your companion couldnt, what makes you think you know your companions abilities better than they do? Even better on the off chance that your companion doesnt know herself, at that point what makes you think you know your own self? These are questions you ought to ask yourself before you settle on the choice to victimize others being in age-hole connections. My grandma and her better half were 25 years separated but they didn't get analysis, yet when I went into a relationship with a multi year age distinction she overemphasized it. Unfortunately this happens regularly to individuals by their loved ones. We are completely brought into the world with an interbreeding evasion intuition, in some cases relying upon your childhood it could leave, however typically we will in general respond to what we see before we get an opportunity to consider it. A distinction in age of 15 years and more prominent would imply that a couple could, regarding age be parent and youngster thus we propose that social resistance to these age-contrasts will be more prominent, in light of the fact that individuals would wish to maintain a strategic distance from the recommendation of interbreeding (Banks and Arnold 2001). Because of the presence of the couple we in a split second feel that the more seasoned accomplice could be the more youthful accomplices parent. In view of this nature we become so centered around the distinction in age that we dont notice whatever else about the relationship. Guardians are regularly stressed that when and if their young child or little girl goes into an age-hole relationship, that the more established accomplice will abuse them for sex and not genuinely love them, or that the accomplice is nearer in age to themselves than their kid. I feel that however the guardians have good intentions, they ought to assess the relationship and become acquainted with the more seasoned accomplice before rushing to pass judgment, and see whether it is sound for their child or little girl. Let he who is without transgression thrown the primary stone (John 8:7). Because of the various rates at which young men and young ladies develop, age-hole connections could even be viewed as perfect to safeguard the endurance of a relationship. Its feasible for two individuals at various ages even with a 20 or multi year age hole to be similarly experienced, anyway you characterize the term.(Anisman-Reiner 2008) Everyone growing up has heard that young ladies develop quicker than young men, and it bodes well this would make it simpler for age-hole connections to work and last. It additionally answers why numerous comparative age connections (particularly secondary school connections) dont last. As you get more established the age-hole in the relationship matters less, on the grounds that the two accomplices are developing. Numerous acclaimed couples both present and since the beginning were associated with age-hole connections. The holes extend from less to one year to over thirty years. Billy Joel and Katie Lee had thirty-two years among them, and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have sixteen years between them. These are individuals we worship, we watch on TV, on motion pictures, and whose music we tune in to. One day the media will pick them for cutest couple and afterward the following day they scrutinize them, and we simply oblige it, rather than utilizing our own personalities. The analysis expands more if the lady is the more established accomplice, and they have been marked by the media as cougars. For example, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher (15 years distinction), they get huge amounts of analysis but then remain joyfully wedded, so far for a long time. It isn't just in present occasions that age-hole connections exist, they have been around for quite a long time. Cleopatra and Julius Caesar had ove r 30 years between them when their sentiment started. Another couple would be Frank E. Head servant and Annie Oakley who had 22 years between them. During my own involvement with an age-hole relationship I have been fortunate to have loved ones to help me, well a large portion of my family. We do get filthy looks out in the open despite the fact that my sweetheart doesnt look that a lot more seasoned than me and unquestionably doesnt act more seasoned than me. On the off chance that we simply centered around what others thought of us, we wouldnt last. Together we have achieved so a lot, and keep on ascending mountains! I ensure that on the off chance that we didn't get the help we have, we would not have made it. You ought not debilitate an age-hole relationship except if you know for a flat out actuality that it is harming to one or the two gatherings, you may find that age-hole connections are a magnificent positive encounter. Taking everything into account age-hole connections are condemned, generalized, and put down. Despite the fact that they are getting increasingly normal, have been around for a considerable length of time, happen in nature, and have demonstrated to have lower separate from rates. Society should take a gander at the relationship, not the periods of the peop

Most people don’t realize that there is no greater battle than the one going on inside of you. In the story, â€Å"Desiree’s Baby† by Katie Chopin, we are introduced to Armand. Armand is a man full of resentment towards himself and his hidden truths. He in turn, allows himself to blame others for his dismay, when in reality he is his own enemy. â€Å"Desiree’s Baby† conveyed Armand’s self-hatred and denial in the way he treated others and these themes ideally brought into play; the conflict, man vs. self. In the story, â€Å"Desiree’s Baby† the themes of denial and self-hatred are impeccably demonstrated through the utilization of literary elements such as setting and the inner conflict of the antagonist; Armand. In the times of racism and slavery, being black was the burden that no one wished to endure. Having been black in those times meant inferiority, it meant being uneducated, enslaved and owned by the â€Å"superior† race. Whites were in charge and anyone of African descent were discriminated against; this meant people of biracial descent also. â€Å"Desiree’s Baby† was in fact, set in this time of oppression of the black race and this setting helped to develop its themes of self-hatred and denial. Armand; a white man and a slave owner, held a secret grudge against his slaves. Not the usual biased grudge of a white man to a slave but something greater, deeper even. In the story, Armand’s wife, Desiree implies that her husband was a cruel and unkind slave owner. While talking to her mother Desiree states: â€Å"he hasn’t punished one of them-not one of them-since the baby is born,† (Chopin, 2). Although she never names her husband as a bad master , she does insinuate her husband’s past dealing with his slaves. This may not seem of any great significance because most slave owners were uncouth when dealing with their slaves but as the story progresses Armand’s actions are accompanied by a greater purpose— vindication. He was a man set out to prove himself â€Å"white†. His cruelty and vengeance of his slaves wasn’t caused by his hatred for them, but actually his hatred for himself and the part of him that was connected to them. Although Chopin does not expose Armand’s African roots until the very last sentence of the story she cleverly foreshadowed the fact. The revelation of a mixed child as well as Armand’s sudden vengence for his slaves and the fact that his skin had been darker than his wife’s were all indications of his negro roots. It was obvious that Armand had in some way known of his true blood line but his fear of not being fully white triggered his denial and s elf-hatred. Furthermore, had this story taken place in current times the thought of being partially black may not have had such an effect on Armand. In more modern societies people are accustomed to the concept of mixed races and things such as biracial dating but Armand did not have the luxury of this acceptance. It was either deny it and hate himself secretly or be exposed and lose the respect and life he had worked so hard for. Therefore, the fact that this story was set in a time when being black or half black or even a quarter black was socially unacceptable helped to justify its themes of denial and self-hatred. Moving on, Chopin employed Armand’s character into the theme by creating a conflict between him and his self. As mentioned previously Armand was fearful of who he really was and subsequently took his anger out on his slaves and wife. â€Å"He thought Almighty God had dealt cruelly and unjustly with him; and felt, somehow, that he was paying Him back in kind when he stabbed thus into his wife’s soul.† (Chopin, 3). This quote from the story reflects the irony of Armand’s behavior towards his own wife. After the discovery that his child had African blood Armand blamed his wife; accusing her of being mixed. He assumed that God had been cruel and unjust to him when ironically he had been the cruel and unjust one; to Desiree. This quote was drawn from Armand’s thoughts that he had been justified in treating his wife in such a way after God had treated him so horribly. This man, although very aware of his wrong doing was far too conflicted within himself t o care for anyone else. In the story, Armand goes from a man deeply in love with his wife to a man who can barely stand to be around her or their child. His wife nor his child were the actual cause of his resentment. It was caused by his insecurities and the fact that being around them only made it worse. In the story, there were many conflicts but Armand’s battle with himself had the strongest effect. Had he admitted that he was the one to blame the story may have had a different ending. The story ends with the confirmation that Armand was indeed the one with African blood but it had been too late. Armand, so full of denial had told his own wife to leave and as a result she took her child and possibly ended both of their lives. He lost his family and his happiness because he was a fearful man. He did not know how to love himself so there was no way for him to love anyone else. â€Å"Armand looked into her eyes and did not care. He was reminded that she was nameless. What did it matter about a name when he could give her one of the oldest and proudest in Louisiana?† (Chopin, 1). The misconception of his love for her is abundant in this quote because the moment her origin came into question Armand no longer felt so shameless. He may have known deep down inside that he bared the blood of a black ancestor but it was easier to blame Desiree. After all, she nor anyone else knew her true lineage. Armand could not accept his roots so he acted in a cowardly manner. He blamed his wife and lost his family but it only solved half of his problems. His son was no longer around to spark the curiosity of others or stir up gossip but that wasn’t the real problem to begin with. The absence of his son did not change his lineage or rid him of self-hatred and denial. Chopin told a story of a cowardly man. A man who allowed himself to live a lie in order to be whom everyone else believed him to be. â€Å"Desiree’s Baby† was a story of many themes and literary elements but self-hatred and denial played a key role in the outcome. From the title alone it is easy to assume that the story would be about the child but the child played only a small part. The setting and conflict in this story helped Chopin to develop the themes of denial and self-hatred thus giving emphasis to the antagonist. Armand did his best to hide who he was but as usual his biggest enemy already knew. He hid his secrets and insecurities but in the end he destroyed himself. In closing, Armand may have hidden his secret well but the words; â€Å"night and day, I thank the good God for having so arranged our lives that our dear Armand will never know that his mother, who adores him, belongs to the race that is cursed with the brand of slavery.† will always be wit h him. (Chopin, 4.)

The Uw Madison School Of The Middle East, Asia, And Latin...

Because our nation is culturally diverse we must be prepared to teach the next generation of nurses to be culturally sensitive so they won’t alienate their patients, and risk making the patients worse off. To insure this goal we must change how the UW-Madison School of Nursing treats these non-europeans: people from various arts of the Middle-East, Asia, and Latin America. Without instruction in cross-cultural medicine medical practitioners make patients wary, through breaking taboos during the course of ones treatment. (Fadiman, 61) Cross-cultural medicine is an important area to expand because, as Fadiman noted, fifty percent of the US population growth has come from immigrants as of 1990. (Fadiman, 271) These immigrants which include many Middle-Easterners, Asians, and Latin Americans may discover our healthcare system is culturally insensitive. This could lead to lower rates of hospital expenditure, as well as lower morbidity within the US. In fact, if patients were to st op viewing hospitals as last resorts their would be less death, because it is these visits where patients most often die. (Fadiman, 63) Although, there has been a push to incorporate lessons in cross-cultural medicine into medical schools we must also teach cross-cultural medicine to nurse practitioners in order to increase hospital accessibility. (Fadiman, 271) One reason cross-cultural medicine would help these groups get better care is that by understanding the individual cultures the doctors

Different Ideologies From The Rise Of Fascism And The...

Throughout the course time of people have had vigorous debate over the type of government implemented and how different people should be governed within a society. We have seen huge variants in ideologies from the rise of fascism in Europe and to the Marxist revolution. We, as in Americans, are lucky enough to live in a time and in a form of democracy where people are able to have a say in what they expect the government to do for them. Since the birth of this country until now we have had plenty of debate of what ideology this country would have. Throughout history there has been two general spectrums of political thought, liberal and republican. Our founders struggled with the two valid ideologies and made a founding document that has shared values from both and is able to be changed and worked on overtime. Now, two and a half centuries after our founding, do the ideals the founders implemented in our constitution still apply to the society we live in today? Can these two very dif ferent ideologies work together to create a nation that people want to live in? To understand the various roles of government and the different opinions on them you have to understand the two major political ideologies. Carl Jung s Theory Of Personality Essay - 1130 Words

Carl Jung was a Swiss psychologist who was born on July 26, 1875, in Kesswil, Switzerland. His father was a minister for a Swiss Reformer Church and his mother was a daughter of a theologian. He had eight maternal uncles and two paternal uncles that were pastors, so he was no stranger to religion growing up. In his later years, he became good friends with Sigmund Freud but had a falling out after they had a disagreement. After this break with Freud, Jung underwent a journey into the unconscious. Through this journey, Jung was able to create his own special theory of personality. Jung discovered the different levels of the psyche. In a similar way to Freud, Jung based his personality theory on that the psyche or the mind had two levels, a conscious and unconscious. However, his theory differed from Freud in a way that Jung believed that the most vital thing about the unconscious is that people are not only motivated by their personal repressed experience, but also from experiences inh erited from their ancestors. He called this concept the â€Å"collective unconscious†. There are certain elements in the collective unconscious that are far more developed and these are called â€Å"archetypes†. As the above paragraph explains, archetypes descended from the collective unconscious and are known as ancient images or collective symbols. Archetypes are comparable to complexes because they are emotionally toned collections of associated images (Feist, G.J., Roberts, 2013, p. 109).Show MoreRelatedCarl Jung s Theory Of Personality And Psychological Types1206 Words   |  5 PagesIn the 1920’s, a Swiss psychologist named Carl Jung devised a theory. Global Warming And Its Effects - 976 Words

As global warming, we understand that is the rise in the average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. It has been an immense concerning all over the world for the past decades since the current cycle of global warming is changing the rhythms of climate that humans, animals and plants rely on. Scientists have studied the natural cycles and events that are known to influence the change in climate to discover what is originating the current global warming. However, the amount and pattern of warming that has been measured on the planet cannot be explained just by natural factors. Therefore, it is impossible to neglect the influence of greenhouse effect, brought about the increased levels of greenhouse gases, due to the effects of different aspects as the burning of fossil fuels, agriculture activities, deforestation and the growth of population (2007). These greenhouse gasses are endangering important and necessary aspects of life and its consequences will affect each one of us. The primary greenhouse gas in earth’s atmosphere responsible for the most global warming is carbon dioxide (CO2). According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on the same national geographic report, other contributors include methane released from landfills in agriculture, nitrous oxide from fertilizers, industrial processes, and the loss of forests that would otherwise store CO2 (2007). The Reliance Interest in Contract Damages Legally Enforceable

Question: Describe about The Reliance Interest in Contract Damages for Legally Enforceable. Answer: (1): Issue: The issue that needs to be decided this case is if Gina can sue Cary for not going ahead with a new lease. In other words, the issue is if Cary is bound by the promise according to which she had given Gina five days to think over the offer. Rule: The relevant provisions of the law contract provided in this regard that the promise to keep the offer open for a particular period has to be supported by consideration (Fuller and Perdue, 1936). In this regard, when a promise has been made by a party to the contract according to which, the other party can accept the offer within the time mentioned by the first party, such promise is legally enforceable only if the other party has provided some consideration in return of the promise. An example in this regard can be given of the case titled Dickinson v Dodds (1876). The effects of this case are that an offer was made by the defendant to sell his house to the claimant. At the same time, a promise was also made according to which, the offer was going to be open till coming Friday. However on Thursday, another offer made by a third party was accepted by the defendant. Therefore the defendant asked his friend to inform the claimant that he has withdrawn the offer. But the claimant went to the defendant house the next morning and tried to accept the offer. Later on, an action was brought by the claimant, in which he sought the relief of specific performance. However the court arrived at the conclusion that in this case, the defendant had effectively revoked the offer. As a result, there was no contract created between the defendant and the claimant. In this context, the court stated that there was no obligation on the part of the defendant to keep the offer till Friday because in return of this promise, no consideration has been provided by the claimant. As a result, the offeree could have withdrawn the offer at any time before it has been accepted by the other party. Application: In the present case also, Cary had made an offer to Gina regarding the lease of the office premises. After listening to Cary's offer, Gina asked if she can have extra space for two cars because her present lease allowed space for only one car. But Cary refused to provide three spaces. Therefore, Gina said that she needs some time to think over the offer regarding the lease. Under these circumstances, Gina said that she will get back to Cary in five days. But before the expiry of five days, Paul approached Cary and showed an interest in leasing the office premises occupied by Gina. Cary accepted the offer made by Paul. Although in this case, Cary had allowed Gina to think over the offer for five days but in return of this promise made by Cary, Gina had not provided any consideration. As a result, the promise that Gina can think over the offer for five days was not supported by any consideration and therefore the promise cannot be enforced against Cary. Under these circumstances, the offer could be revoked by Cary at any time before it was accepted by Gina. Conclusion: Therefore in this case, a valid contract was not created between Cary and Gina and as a result, Gina cannot sue Cary for the breach of promise according to which Cary had allowed Gina to think over the offer. (2) Issue: After going through the ads that are relevant for this part of the question, the issue arises if the promise made by Cary to pay extra $5000 to James, the electrician for replacing the electrical wiring and for installing the air-conditioning units, is enforceable in view of the fact that James had already entered into a contract with Cary to perform this work at a price of $20,000. Therefore it needs to be seen if the promise made by Cary to pay extra $5000 to James can be enforced against Cary. Rule: The traditional rule that is applicable in such a case provides that the performance of pre-existing duty is not a valid consideration for any variation made in the contract. Therefore when the promisee is only performing its legal duty imposed by contract, such performance cannot be treated as consideration (MacDougall, 1992). When both the parties to the contract have already agreed to do something or restrained from doing something under the contract, the terms of such a contract cannot be changed by the parties without providing new consideration (Shatwell, 1954). Or in other words, the promisee cannot ask for additional benefit for something regarding which it was already bound by a contract (Ricks, 2001). An example in this regard can be given of the situation where the parties have decided the price of the goods under the contract, and such price cannot be changed and extra payment cannot be promised without providing a rich consideration. This traditional rule was provi ded by the court in Stilk v Myrick (1809). In this case, two crew members of a ship had deserted the ship. Therefore the master of the ship made a promise to the remaining crewmembers that he will pay the wages of those two crew members to them if they perform the duties of those two crew members along with their own duties. However when the ship reached its home port, the defendant refused to fulfill his promise. While deciding the case, the court said that the crew members are already bound by their contract with the master of the ship according to which they had to do everything to bring the ship to its home port. Therefore, the promise made by the master of the ship cannot be enforced due to lack of consideration. In this case, the crewmembers have not provided any consideration in return of the promise made by the master of the ship. But this traditional role was significantly altered by the court in the decision given in Williams v Roffey Bros Nicholls (1989). In this case, the court also came up with the practical benefit principle. In this case, the defendant had made contact with Williams for performing some carpentry work. However after doing some work, Williams started facing financial problems and found it difficult to complete the work. On the other hand, it was really important for the defendant that the work was completed on time because it had entered into a contract with a third-party according to which the work of the renovation of the flats will be completed on time otherwise the defendant will have to pay a penalty. Under these circumstances, the defendant agreed to pay additional amount to Williams for completing the work on time. But later on, the defendant refused to make this payment. While deciding the issue, the court arrived at the conclusion that the defendant was going to achieve a practical benefit if the work was completed on time by Williams. Therefore it can be said that consideration has been provided in the form of the practical benefit achieved by the defendant. As a result, the cour t stated that the promise made by the defendant to pay additional amount, was enforceable under the law. In this case also, Cary will achieve a practical benefit if James completed the work on time. While it will be difficult for Cary to get another electrician at such a short notice and moreover, it was the conditions mentioned in the renewed leases according to which all the premises will be air-conditioned. Under these circumstances, it can be said that Cary will achieve a practical benefit if the work was completed on time by James. As a result, the promise made by Cary to pay additional $5000 to James is legally enforceable. B: Discuss some of the practical, ethical and business issues which arise in this scenario. There are several practical, ethical and business issues that are present in this scenario. For example, the practical issue is related with the fact that Cary wants the building to be refurbished. For this purpose, the office spaces need to be repainted and air-conditions and new electric wiring also needs to be installed. At the same time, it also needs to be noted that the lease for all the tenants had expired. Therefore it was being continued on a monthly basis. As a result, the tenants like Gina cannot claim a right to continue in their office space. It has also been clearly mentioned in the renewed leases that the lease will start from 1st September, 2016 which will be the date by which the refurbishment of the office space has to be completed. As a result, when the electrician, James found it difficult to complete the work on time, there was a practical issue for Cary that she will have to suffer the loss under the new leases as it has been clearly mentioned that the lease wil l start from 1st September. Under these circumstances, it became important for Cary that the work of installing air conditioners and new electrical wiring should be completed before this date. Another critical issue in this scenario was that if James refused to complete the work, it would have been very difficult for Cary to find a new electrician. Moreover, as very little time was left, it will be very difficult for the new electrician to complete the work on time and it can also be expected that the new electrician will demand a much higher price because very little time was left to complete the job. In this way, it would have been resulted in a business issues for Cary if she failed to deliver the office spaces on time as mentioned in the new lease agreements. The ethical issue that is present in this case is that Gina had asked for five days to think over the offer made by Cary. In this context, Cary had told Gina and three car spaces cannot be provided to Gina under the new lease and therefore, she will have to settle with the existing one space for her car. Instead of accepting the offer immediately, Gina asked if she can think over the offer and they replied within five days. Cary had accepted and allowed five days to Gina to call her back. But before Gina could decide regarding the offer and before the expiry of this period of five days, Cary accepted an offer made by Paul regarding the office space that was occupied by Gina. In this regard it also needs to be mentioned that Paul had offered to pay $100 extra per month than the money paid by Gina. Under these circumstances, an issue arises if it was difficult for Cary to accept the offer made by Paul before hearing anything in this regard from Gina. The business issue that arises in this scenario is that in context of business transactions, it is very important that the parties make a quick decision. For example, in the present case, Gina failed to decide if she wanted to continue with the lease for her office with one space for car. She should have been aware of the fact that at least has expired and therefore, some other party may make an offer in this regard. Therefore business sense requires that Gina should have immediately made a decision regarding the car space and accepted or rejected the offer made by Cary. Adversity and resilience of ho Essay Example For Students

Adversity and resilience of ho Essay Tale Farewell My Concubine describes the torments and sufferings that homosexuals have to go through. These torments and sufferings are the results of stereotypes from the society. The video Anti-Gay, and the books The Facts on Homosexuality and Gay and Lesbian Stats: A Pocket Guide of Facts and Figures explains the reasons for gay stereotypes, and how they affect those who are homosexuals. Homosexuals are frequently viewed as the outcasts of society and are often subjected to discrimination. However, with the support of family and friends, they are able to overcome such aggression. Someday, homosexuals will be treated the same way as heterosexuals, and society will learn that homosexuality is not a disease, but just another way of life. In the novel Farewell My Concubine, the main character, Xiao Douzi, is faced with the adversity of being a homosexual in a time when homosexuality was absolutely unaccepted by society. Douzi was born with beautiful facial features and a perfect complexion; because of this, he was chosen to play a woman on stage. Douzi fails to separate his on-stage gimmick from his real life persona, and he falls in love with his partner and best friend, Xiao Shitou. When Shitou married a woman, Douzi collapsed mentally and soon got addicted to opium. Shitous wife was against homosexuality, and she did whatever she could to keep her husband from seeing Douzi; but despite all this, Shitou still cares about Douzi and helped Douzi get off his addiction to opium. Shitous wife was against homosexuality, and she did whatever she could to keep her husband from seeing Douzi; but despite all this, Shitou still cares about Douzi and helped Douzi get off his addiction to opium. He also helps out Douzi whenever he can and supports Douzis decision to live his life as a homosexual. Aside from his personal problems, Douzi is also faced with discrimination from the society. During the Japanese invasion of China, the Japanese army found out about his homosexual tendencies, and they forced Douzi to dress up as a woman and have sexual intercourse with them. During the Cultural Revolution, Douzi was brutally beaten and was humiliated by the Red Guards. Douzi was treated this way because his adversaries believed in the traditional gay stereotypes. According to the books The Facts on Homosexuality and Gay and Lesbian Stats: A Pocket Guide of Facts and Figures, these beliefs about homosexuals were made up by ignorant people, and spreads around through the media. Common beliefs about homosexuals are that they tend to act like the opposite sex, and many believe that homosexuals are all sex-craving perverts. These beliefs are all false. Gays and lesbians just act like themselves. Although statistics showed that some homosexuals do engage in more dangerous activities such as anal sex, most of them are normal, respectable human beings. Rather than believing in these silly rumors about homosexuals, people should learn more about them and try to understand them. If all straight people gets to know homosexuals like Shitou knew Douzi, they will find that homosexuals are no different than anyone else, and that homosexuals can turn out to be great friends. People who despise homosexuals are usually those who are ignorant enough to be deceived by the absurd beliefs about homosexuals. Recently, more and more people are beginning to learn about the true nature of homosexuals, and are willing to accept them as part of humanity. Gays and lesbians once had to hide their homosexual lifestyles from even the closest friends and family members because they did not want to be discriminated against. Michael Jackson Essay Nowadays, most friends and family members of homosexuals accept them as part of society. Homosexuals can now open up to their friends and family members and turn to them for support. According to the documentary film Anti-Gay, homosexual suicide rates have decreased dramatically due to the growing support of homosexuals from friends and family. In the novel Farewell My Concubine, Douzi was able to accept himself as being gay because his best friend Shitou was there to give .

Life After Death Essays - Ontology, Philosophy Of Mind, Monism

Life After Death An undeniable statement by all, philosophers or not, is that our earthly life will one day cease to exist and every living individual will one day meet their death. A simple definition of death would be the complete annihilation of one self, where the life or awakeness one would feel in their brief life would be no more. Basically, the opposite to life. However, even the definition of death may be open to argument by many. Some may believe that death is not the end of life or not the opposite of life. Some may believe that we do live on through the passing on of our genes or through stories being told about you after the process of death. Some may believe that we are reincarnated after our soul leaves the body. Some may believe that the soul is an eternal entity and never stops living. All of these are however open to argument. There is not even factual proof that a soul even exists so how would it be possible for such an entity to hold so much value in this argument. The three main theories that will be discussed in this essay will stem from the Materialism perspective, the Idealism perspective and the Dualism perspective. The materialists' beliefs are opposed to the idea that there is a life after death and the other theories support the idea of a life after death. I shall also discuss in this essay the possibilities of reincarnation and if it possible to have more than one life. Some religions will also be briefly looked at in this regard. Another commodity that will be looked at will be evidence to support the idea of life after death and the value of this evidence. I shall then conclude by summing up the theories and discussing the theory closest to my opinion in relation to this subject. First-century Sadducees claimed that man is wholly material, having no spirit, so at death he simply ceases to exist. Modern materialists and Humanists likewise say we evolved by natural forces from animals, so like the animals, we simply cease to exist at death. Materialists believe that a human is nothing more than a living physical creature and once gone is gone. Every action is a result of a chain of events and that over time science has found more and more answers and eventually, science will also be able to answer the controversy surrounding life after death. Just as there is no more to a dress sewn from a few yards of cotton, there is no more to a person than a brain attached to a body with a nervous system. Gilbert Ryle argues that the soul should not be considered as something that is separate to the mind or body. Any talk of a soul was talk about the way in which a person acted and integrated with others and the world. It was not something that was separate or distinct. When one says that ?he bought me a left shoe and a right shoe' he would not say ?he bought me a left shoe, a right shoe and a pair of shoes'. This is what Ryle would call the dogma of the ghost in the machine. He said: ?When two terms belong to the same category, it is proper to construct conjunctive propositions embodying them? Hard materialists have solid beliefs that there a living creature is just like a chemical. If there is nothing that can be seen, it does not exist. The consciousness of a man in nothing more than just mere brain activity and once the body dies, so does the brain. However, opposed to this there are soft materialists. Soft materialists although believe in the mainstream argument that materialists believe, they are less harsh in thinking that all characteristics are not physical ones. Consciousness is more than just a brain process although the mind and body are related and do not act independently of each other. The common factor between hard materialists and soft materialists is that when the body dies, so does the mind. In short, as the soul cannot be seen or scientifically proven, materialists do not believe in the existence of it. As the body

RN to BSN Sample Essay

RN to BSN Sample EssayRN to BSN sample essays have been used for years to select students who are very talented in the medical field. In fact, there are very few nursing schools that accept them for enrollment. Some of these schools also take a look at the essays as a key factor in deciding to accept or reject an applicant. The focus is usually on whether the applicant has any work experience in the field of nursing and how it compares to the standard of knowledge and skill required to do the job. The goal of the essay, however, is to provide solid evidence of ability that will stand up against student's competition. It is this material, while not directly applying to the job, that is what draws so many applicants.Writing the RN to BSN sample is a lot like writing a standard ASVAB. Both include combat experiences, merit-based tests, sample tasks, research material, and step-by-step instruction in all aspects of medicine. Many questions regarding the job can be answered directly in the essay. There is also some variation among courses in a variety of topics that are covered.Students can cover anything from basic knowledge and information on the four Cs to understanding the physical and emotional requirements of the job. Careful placement of the material to encourage long-term learning is required. There is a certain amount of time in each lesson for students to review the material. The purpose of this is to allow for a thorough examination of the concepts to determine if students understand the material and can apply it to real life situations.Knowledge of topics that are discussed should also be developed in order to develop analytical skills. Students should be able to find their place within the teaching process and identify their strengths and weaknesses. Many times students will be given one or two options to choose from when writing an essay. Whether the student is working towards a nursing degree or any other degree such as a doctorate, there is a proper f ormat for developing the RN to BSN sample. Anytime that an interviewer asks the student to write an essay, they should be prepared. Taking the time to prepare for it will result in a much better response than one who simply takes the first assignment that comes across their desk.An employer might ask the applicant to consider the significance of current events, history, current news, international issues, or other related information. The sample must be specific to the job, the academic requirements, and the requirements of the nursing department. A detailed breakdown of what they are looking for will go far in ensuring that the writing is of high quality.Make sure that the sample is complete and comprehensive, especially if you are applying for a nursing course. It should provide all of the information needed for the interview and also use other material as a guide for the essay. The student should be aware of what kind of information is expected and what questions the interviewer will want answered.

Roger and me oppinion essay essays

Roger and me oppinion essay essays I thought that Roger and Me was a pretty good movie considering that it was a documentary. I didnt really like the directors approach to the movie, I thought that because of the way he did it was too jumpy. I also think that it probably would have been much better with a professional photographer, because the person who did the camera work couldnt hold the camera still. Though I suppose that he had to do with he had so that is forgivable. The content in the movie was pretty good I think that he really got the point across. My favorite part of the movie was where she skinned and gutted the rabbit. I know it grossed most people out but I thought that it was interesting to see how it was done. It was a smart move for the president of General Motors to close down the factories in Flint and build new ones in Mexico where he could pay the workers less. Though this doesnt mean that I agree with what he did. I thought it was really bad thing to do to the people and the town that had worked for him for so long. He probably could have opened some factories in Mexico without having to close down so many factories in the U. S.. Also if they were closing down so many factories then they should have had a much better plan to help out the employees that they were laying off. The plan would have been to pay them enough to keep them on their feet wile the found new jobs and help them find new jobs. I thought it was really sad when the sheriff had to evict so many people especially those he evicted right before Christmas. Its terrible the horrible conditions they were already living in then he throws them out onto the streets to live in even worse conditions. I also thought that it was really rude for the president of General Motors to avoid talking to the director. After how many times he had tried to get in to see him youd think they would have noticed that he really wanted to see the pr...

The Visual Dimension of Hindu Rituals Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

The Visual Dimension of Hindu Rituals - Essay Example From this paper it is clear that since sacrifices are held in high esteem in Hinduism, the people practicing Hinduism often perform them in special places. It is important to remember to remember that ceremonies and other Hindu rites often happen in temple settings. In doing so, they are often directed towards gods and goddesses, who are given a lot of respect and religious concern among those that practice Hinduism. However, it inasmuch as Hinduism has a lot of sacrifices and rituals, a good number of them are often performed in people’s homes. Perhaps the reason given for it is that not all the rituals and ceremonies done are directed towards the gods and goddesses.   Just like in other religions and cultures, death marks a highly critical moment in Hinduism. This essay discusses that  the reason that makes death a very important element for Hindus is that it brings an end to life. Secondly, death ushers one into a new form of life. In this regard, death is simply a trans ition time that all people have to follow for reaching the other form of life. In celebrating the life of the deceased, Hinduism has special funeral rites that have to be performed, better known as shraddha.  These rituals also referred to as samskaras, because they are important rites of passage for the Hindus. Inasmuch as this form of religion may seem to give much emphasis to sacrifices, it is what makes them unique and separate from other forms of religion and cultures across the world.

Romantic Poetry Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Romantic Poetry - Research Paper Example The Romantic Movement thus became a revolutionary phase in the history of English poetry. Keats once said â€Å"I think I shall be among the English poets after my death†. Mathew Arnold commenting upon this statement said† He is with Shakespeare â€Å".T. S Eliot in spite of his reservations and qualifications about romantic poetry, in general, conceded that the kind of poetry which Keats wrote seems â€Å"much more the kind of Shakespeare†. He also said that Keats had, like Shakespeare, a philosophic mind†. It is indeed a credit to Keats that he has been compared to Shakespeare by some of the most eminent critics of our time. The essential quality of Keats as a poet is his sensitiveness to beauty. With singleness of aim he seeks for â€Å"the principle of beauty in all things. Poets like Milton, Wordsworth and Shelly also worshipped, but they had secondary moral intentions. He worships beauty with the unreasoning rapture of a child or a lover. Keats poetr y has a sensuous richness. All that appeals to the senses is vividly described in his poems. In early poems, the sensuous richness is too great. This is merely the eager lavishness of youth rejoicing in its abundance, and not yet disciplined by good taste. Once Keats expressed his love of sensuousness and delights by preferring sensation to thought, â€Å"O for a life of sensation rather than of thought†. None of Keats predecessors had the same keen eagerness as had Keats to taste all earthly delights to burst joy’s grape against his palate fine† and to convey in verse the wealth of his sensations. By describing life as it impinged upon the sensuous, Keats greatly widened the sensuous realm of poetry. The finest of the four odes written in the spring of 1819the ‘Ode to A Nightingale’ is the passionately human and personal. He did not think about the particular bird of Hampstead but of its song which had been beautiful and delightful for centuries. Th e poem as we know was composed in the morning and but in the ode, the Queen moon is on her throne and the Nightingale is a type of the race imagined as singing in a far-off scene of woodland mystery, of verdurous gloom and winding mossy way. The poet would like to escape from the woes of the world,†Where youth grows pale and specter-thin, to the fairy land, to the †¦melodious plot, Of beeches green and shadows numberless†. Ode to the nightingale, though not so classic in its perfection, is richer in emotion and is truly romantic in haunting suggestiveness and melody. It might even be said that the ‘ode to autumn is to the Nightingale, what the poetry of Pope is to Keats. The Nightingale has true romantic spirit, attempts the impossible and like all romantic poetry pleases us by its very glorious failure. This ode is deeply charged with human feeling and the mood here is very intense. Crushed down by a personal loss, the poet is tortured by the thought of insta bility of man’s estate on earth and his continual suffering and decay in the world. The enjoyed sensuous experience is shown in the poem ‘The Ode To Nightingale’. Sidney Colvin regards it as â€Å"one among the glories of English poetry†. The song of the nightingale is the first experience that gives him
